The Composite Lumber Manufacturers Association (CLMA) was formed in 2005. CLMA is organized to represent manufacturers and suppliers of composite lumber to the residential and commercial building construction markets. The mission of the organization is:
To advance the growth of the North American composite lumber industry through proactive technical, advocacy, and awareness efforts.
Three common objectives have been identified for the CLMA:
- Enhance sustained market growth through code and standards organization representation
- Promote composite lumber materials to raise awareness for the industry and members
- Serve as a technical and market information resource for the industry.
CLMA has formed a Codes and Standards Committee which is working on several industry issues. CLMA members have identified several national and state code issues as top priorities for CLMA.
“The formation of the CLMA will assist composite lumber manufacturers with representation in the major code and standards organizations” commented Executive Director, Russell K. Snyder. “As an industry, composite lumber producers will be able to speak with one voice to the regulators code officials and in the standards bodies to promote this rapidly growing building product used in constructing decks, railings and fences.”
CLMA is the North American trade association that represents the composite lumber industry’s manufacturing companies and their material suppliers. CLMA is headquartered in Washington , D.C .
