As a member of CLMA, you will be actively involved in the decisions made within the organization. Strategies are developed and implemented through the respective member companies’ representatives and are aggressively pursuing issues that affect the industry and by creating committees within the organization that effectively focus on those specific issues.
CLMA is committed to quality and providing the highest level of service to its members and for the industry. The composite lumber industry is on the move and to maintain the growth, the CLMA Board of Directors has identified the following strategy for the association to implement.
Three common objectives have been identified for the CLMA:
- Enhance sustained market growth through code and standards organization representation
- Promote composite lumber materials to raise awareness for the industry and members
- Serve as a technical and market information resource for the industry
There are four types of membership:
- Regular Member : Any firm, partnership or corporation headquartered in North America that manufacturers composite lumber (as defined) is eligible for Regular Membership in the Association upon terms to be fixed by the Board of Directors. “Composite Lumber” shall be defined as products made from a combination of plastics and 30% or greater of filler materials sold as a substitute for wood in building applications.
- Associate Member: Any firm, partnership or corporation engaged in supplying components, equipment or services for the manufacture or installation of composite lumber, may be admitted to Associate Membership in the Association. Associate members shall hae the rights, privileges and obligations of membership except the right to vote.
- Affiliate Member: Any firm, partnership or corporation which, (i) is engaged in selling composite lumber products under its own proprietary brand and label; (ii) is not engaged in the manufacture of such products, and (iii) does not sell such products at retail to consumers may be admitted to Affiliate Membership in the Association. Entities qualified to be Affiliate Members may not join the Association as Associate Members. Affiliate Members shall have the rights, privileges and obligations of Membership except the right to vote.
- Contributory Member: Any firm, partnership or corporation that is eligible to be, but has not previously been, a Regular Member. This non-voting membership category is offered on a one-time, one year contractual trial basis. A Contributing Member can convert the company membership status by July 1 of the contract year to become a Regular Member with voting rights and full membership benefits.
